Excellent question, and the answer, right now, is that Yoga Alliance does not have a 'standardized certificate' for "Yoga for Cancer Survivors". I called them, and they think it could be five years away! I offered to sit on a board to START the discussion! Scary, huh!
There are yoga instructors that have been teaching "Yoga for Cancer Survivors" and training other yoga teachers, but the hours of completion are not recognized by YA.
So, research the instructor's credentials, experience and background. There are some fabulous programs and instructors.
Many instructors are right here on Yoga Bear.
Decide the population of survivors you'd like to focus on and see if you can match your needs to their training.
Great question! We need to all call Yoga Alliance and say , "We want Standards for YCS yoga"
Blessings!
Jean
