Hello, beautiful folks!
I have begun documenting the sequences I teach in my Yoga for Recovery class in a blog, and I welcome your feedback. My hope is that students will begin to provide feedback on what works, what doesn't, and teachers can use it as a reference. Working with students individually has provided me with a great deal of knowledge (my students are my best teachers!), but I am always open to more information. This 90-minute class is intended for students who have completed their treatment, but the reality is that anyone on the cancer journey can walk through the door. Here is the blog address: http://yogabylorien-sequences.blogspot.com/
Thank you!
Namaste,
Lorien

Dear Lorien,
Please post this again to the Instructor Forum Group on YB ( go to groups and open all of them), you will receive more input.
Blessings,
Jean
Hi Lorien,
It's great that you are posting your classes and reflecting on them. Here's my input: add breath explorations and teach about the benefits of the yogic breath, start at the feet and work up the body,
add warm up sequences-knee to chest, knee rotations, hamstring stretches, and other body warm-up stretches (cancer patients often have the need to slower warm-ups to get moving gently).

If students are coming back, they are happy! Teaching with compassion ....you have that...blessings, Jean
I love this Lorien, thanks for sharing!

Hi, Lorien:  Your name seemed so familiar.  Suddenly I realized why: you ordered my DVD: Gentle Yoga for Recovery & Beyond--and we'd exchanged a few emails about your program at Stanford.  I'm going to check out your blog site.  FYI:  Since we emailed, MAYO Clinic selected my DVD for its "beautiful sequencing" and "highly effective exercises" to use in a study on breast cancer & yoga.  I hope you found it helpful.  Camille

Camille, that's awesome about your video and Mayo. Congrats!

Hi, Camille, that is excellent news! I did find your DVD helpful - some new things, and lovely reinforcements of what I already do. Keep sharing your talents! We all benefit from it. ~L
