Hi,

I'm a yoga teacher.  My friend and I have recently started a yoga program at a hospital near Dallas.  It offers free classes for breast cancer survivors/patients. We'd love to create a connection with anyone in the Austin area who is doing something similar.

Does anyone in south Austin offer a restorative or gentle yoga at a reduced fee?

I am a 3 yr. breast cancer survivor and would like to start taking yoga, but at this time, I cannot afford lessons. Is there anything I can do about this? Are there any free classes.?

Ha! It's March 12-21, sooo we could do a class on Saturday the 13th, or the 20th...I would think either one is good. I'll check with Brandy, our teacher for the event to see which day may work best. Please let me know who all can attend!!! Spread the word, and I'll create an eventbrite invite!!

Hi Austin Yoga Bears!!! We are looking to do an event during SXSW on a Saturday during those 2 weeks. Would everyone be able to attend an informational/slow breathing/hatha session one morning? Possibly around 9:30-10? Let me know!! Hope you all can make it!!

To all you wonderful "Austin Survivor's Plaza" supporters and steering committee! I would personally like to take this chance to thank each one of you for taking on my dream with me! It might not have been as fast as we wished but nevertheless it's moving forward! It couldn't have been done with out each of you! May G-d bless each of you! Some day soon there will be a place for cancer survivor's and their families to get away from the medical world of treatment! A place to recharge for surivor's and their families for many years to come! A place that gives Hope and positve feeling to aid in each's own recovery ! To renew and be ready to face the world and on to survivorship and wellness! Have a wonderful Chrismas and Happy New year 2010. I'm looking forward to moving a head and creating the most wonderful Cancer Survivor's Park in the World!

I would love to plan 2010 events for us and then talk to the other Texas chapters to do something together! Holly.....When are we going to get together? I know the Holidays are coming, but be thinking about it! Our local Optimist Club is doing a Casino Night at Nuevo Leon Rstaurant on the 6th at 7:00. I will be there to enjoy. Anyone whos available is welcome!!! Send me a message and let me be on the look out, if you're coming:) Along with the gambling with fun money, they will have karoke and snacks! :)
