Yesterday was my one year anniversary of being cancer-free. I am very interested in healthy eating and exercise. I have been interested in yoga for awhile and would love to attend some classes for my body, mind, and spirit.

It' all warm and fuzzy

This morning I had to go get a ct scan and they shot dye into my veins. The whole thing was cold (machines included) and I feel like it's an assalt on my body and soul. This afternoon I did 1.5 hours of restorative yoga with Lynn Bushnell in laguna beach at yoga works. It was like a warm and fuzzy blanket over me for the entire time. I feel like I can breathe now and definitely more peaceful than I have been all week. I am so thankful I found this class.

It's like medicine for the body and soul

went to the restorative yoga class today taught by Lynn Bushnell in Laguna Beach. It was very relaxing and I really needed it. When I left I felt peaceful... it's been awhile for me to say that. I also felt like I did something positive for my body. I feel like my body has been 'assaulted' over the past year with surgeries, chemo, radiation... it felt nourishing to relax, breathe, and just 'be' with each pose. definitely will go back.

The Body is The Body

the body is the body and has a mind of it's own - that is what I have decided. I went to my plastic surgeon and all is well today but now I have a kidney infection and have to go to the urologist. I just want to be friggin healthy... is it asking so much? Thinking of going to yoga this Wednesday for the first time at this studio.

Whew - what a morning!

I walked eight miles today to train with my team for the two-day AVON walk in September. I got tired as I just had some outpatient surgery two weeks ago and I am also still sore. The name of my team is the Booby Brigade and they are such great women. I felt 'slower' and that I had to keep up with them. My body feels different now cause I haven't been able to get back to my fast walking and hiking yet. I hope I get there soon. I get despondent from getting tired in the afternoons. I think it's a… Continue

Breast Cancer - today is a good day.

I am feeling really good today. This past week I celebrated one year cancer-free. My oncologist told me my blood work came back great. I feel re-born. I don't go back for four more months to see her. I feel like I can conquer the world today. OK... well, I still have some physical 'issues' from some surgeries but even still there is something to be said for kick-ass ATTITUDE. I took my doggie for a walk and now I am back to work as a life coach. Today I celebrate all of us survivors; we're all… Continue
