Tell us about yourself
I am a mother of 5 and a colon cancer survivor! :) This picture is of my wonderful husband, my surgeon, his beautiful wife and myself. To help fund a support group for colon cancer at the hospital where I was treated and to raise awareness, we run a baseball tournement every year. This is a small way for us to show our gratification.

Dear Carrie!
Oh! How wonderful! A lovely family to raise and enjoy! Yes....do keep you eye on March on Congress/C3! Prayers are always welcomed and so effective! Are you considering yoga? There are many aspects of yoga that may be beneficial to bring to your support group! What a great contribution to the network of survivors!
Blessings,
Jean

Hi Carrie,
C3 provides information about who needs early screenings, supports survivors with advocacy information and does this grassroots organizing to bring awareness to all that cc is the second leading cause of death in the US (and 4th in the world). A preventable cancer...we are fighting for the same rights that have become commonplace with breast cancer screening and treatment. THose that have no health coverage have little options. We support a bill that would basically allow
non-insured people to get colonoscopies and treatment (just the same that is in place for breast cancer). If you noticed President Obama's speech, he mentioned colon cancer! We'd like to think that all the lobbying made it's way up to the Chief!
But the battle is not yet won! And, like you, I want to save anyone from this preventable cancer by educating and advocating. Check here: www.fightcolorectalcancer.org (Colorectal Cancer Org. C3)
Blessings@!

Hi Carrie,
Welcome to YB! I , too, and a cc survivor....and after that, became a yoga instructor to help other survivors find a new way of healing. Have you ever gone to C3 March on Congress? It happens in March. I plan on going again this March and hopefully, healthcare will cover colonoscopies!
Blessings,
Jean
