We often get stuck on negative moments and enlarge their significance. This mindfulness activity teaches us to pay attention to the events of each day and intentionally focus on the positives. On Friday the annual Hair Massacure was held at West Edmonton Mall. The Hair Massacure is designed to recognize the urgency of the decline in health of our youth, in particular to raise funds for the Stollery Children's Hospital and children's cancer research.

Last night I was reading The Wisdom of No Escape by Pema Chodron, this month’s book topic for the Namaste Book Club, and I came to Chapter #6 Joy. The principle point of the chapter is that sometimes we “subtly forget about joy” and instead bask in our misery of day to day living. Instead we were encouraged to recognize the joy.
