Hi there! I'm the founder and executive director of Yoga Bear. I'm passionate about health, wellness, and cancer advocacy. We want to bring more opportunities of yoga, health, and happiness to cancer survivors across the nation.
About Me: I love cupcakes, reading, cooking vegan meals, social entrepreneurship, dance, and animals (especially dogs, whales, and elephants). I started Yoga Bear because I saw an opportunity to make a difference, and build a do-good yoga community. I am grateful for the leadership experience this has given me, as well as the incredible relationships I have formed with our participants, volunteers, and community partners.
If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message. I look forward to hearing from you!
Feel free to leave me a message, I'll get back to you-promise!

Hi Halle, i am interested in teaching a free class once a week at our studio. how can we get our studio signed up as a studio that provides this yoga bear service? is there someone else i should contact. we are in Florida near destin. i am ryt and also a breast cancer survivor. thanks mary papciak
Hi Halle T, Thanks for welcoming me to Yoga Bear! I would love to teach for Yoga Bear and pool our resources. There are so many people with cancer in San Francisco that need yoga. I was talking to Shanti (a non-profit breast cancer organization) about bringing some breast cancer patients to Center for Peaceful Healing, www.centerforpeacefulhealing.org, for a weekly class. I would like to design a couple of free classes for cancer patients here. I am talking with the San Francisco coordinator too. I would also like to organize something in Los Angeles in the way of a series or a workshop. I would love to help where I can to make yoga more accessible to people who have cancer. Tell me how I can be of service!
Hi Halle.
I noticed there's a page where people who have yoga studios can post their contact info. Do you also have a page for online yoga resources?
Thanks,
David
Hi Halle: I have not been posting in a very long time.....I live in New Jersey and I would like to know if there are pro bono legal services.... I went through a horrid divorce and I have some things that need completing....I am unable to afford legal assistance due to my exorbitant medical bills.... all the best..with regards.....:) Mia
I am so so happy you messaged me. I'm sorry about the delay- I have
been digging through e-mails, it's been a hectic couple of weeks!
I was very excited when I found out about Yoga Bear. It is so inspiring and I have been telling people all about it. I was actually trying to look on the website for your contact information to see if I could do an informal interview with you about the organization.
I am just beginning work on my project. In sum,I'm developing a Yoga
and Alternative Health Non-Profit to provide Yoga classes, as well as
other Health and Wellness related classes, to populations in the Boston area that either lack access or have a specific desire for such
programs. Like I said, I am in the beginning stages and at this point,
I am collecting data from community leaders and like-minded individuals in the area.
Sorry for the long winded e-mail!
Do you happen to have a bit of time to answer some questions for me? We could meet up, have a phone conversation, or I could just send you some questions over e-mail.
I posted a Lululemon/Exclusive Yoga Event (10/24) on the Boston Group page...is that the correct way for that group to receive the post? Or, should it be on the universal page?
Hi, Halle: How do I join the Boston Group? I don't see an option for this. Also, regarding the Instructors Forum, do teachers mostly communicate only within private groups? If so, I suppose I could invite many, many, instructors to join an "Exclusive Yoga" teacher group, but don't see the point of isolating all the knowledge. That could be done on a Facebook or Google group. Camille
Yoga Bear is a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to connecting cancer fighters and survivors with free access to the benefits of healing yoga.
