Why Your Feet Ground You in Yoga

Ever think about your feet? Most of us take our tootsies for granted, until they hurt. In yoga, we use our feet as grounding. For cancer patients receiving certain types of chemotherapy, neuropathy, dry skin, lack of coordination and balance may effect our feet and , therefore, our grounding.

Make sure to tell your yoga teacher what's going on with your feet. Though… Continue

Yoga to Deal with Cancer Stress and More

Our emotional needs intensify during cancer treatment and yoga for cancer survivors can alleviate some of the stress. We also need other survivors to help us along our path, especially those that have a similar diagnosis. Studies are being done on the effectiveness of yoga, on line support groups, and other supportive therapies.

If you've found this site, you are… Continue

HOPE!!

Hope: it's our birthright to live with hope.

My mentor and friend, Suzanne Lindley, had hoped for a third child, and after ten years Chloe found her way into their family. Chloe needed hope, her young mother was unable to care for her, and Suzanne, a stage four survivor, was hoping for…

Jean,

Thank you so much for offering to help me get the word out about this event! What email address would you like me to send them to for you to forward? (Was it yogaforcancersurvivors@...?) I can also send the info to your friend directly at her email. I truly appreciate your help! I will send them over sometime today or tomorrow afternoon.

Jean,

I am so glad we got in touch! Would you be able to let your Dallas contacts know about the BreatheCure Conference? I would really appreciate help spreading the word about this event. It truly is a unique opportunity to bring everyone together from the wellness community. Would you also be interested in doing a blog post about the BTC Conference? If you need any additional information or photos, or if you'd like to speak with any of the people involved, please let me know and I can set it up for you.

I look forward to talking to you again soon,

Hi Jean!  You sent me a welcome message about a year ago and I am thankful for that... because now I am trying to donate classes and can't figure out where to do it on this website.  Am I missing something?  I recently bought a house and have fixed up part of the house as a yoga studio and am ready to start classes.  Could you please direct me as to how to get things started?  Thanks!

Hi Jean - We do have Kids classes. Currently, they're for 4 - 7 yrs old. But if she wanted to attend class with her mother, we'd be happy to have them in our regular classes.

Dear Jean,

Thank you for such a warm welcome. I am not a Yoga instructor. I am a mental health professional teaching mindfulness and skills to chronically ill patients.

I am enjoying my Cancer Survivor Classes at OM in NYC. My daughter is in Yoga teacher training at a studio in CT. I have been passing all the wonderful information to her... love the videos on the website. I have been using Kate's "Thriving Yoga "at home since early in my treatment.

Thanks, Jean ~ my name is Celtic birth given (first name) and Sufi second name ;)

I'm going to do a blog on my website as I redo it .... hmmm, different one here? It really *is* an opening experience.....the studio I go to isn't listed, is there someone to talk to about that? They're cool though, they also have work study so I'm applying for that ~ yoga feels really important in these next steps in my journey.....
