Yes I am a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in late 2008. Cancer has touched my family way too many times. My father is also a thyroid cancer survivor and my 76 year old mother just successfully completed chemo/radiation for breast cancer. Unfortunately we are not all survivors as I did lose my brother at the age of 21 to Hodgkins. That is why my yoga practice is a celebration of my life and of my spirit. What inspires me to practice now is my increasing awareness of the fragility and shortness of life itself. I now take the preciousness of every moment to a new level.

We are excited to have you become a part of our Yoga Bear community! I urge you to also join the Arizona Group on the home page as well. The Arizona Yoga Bear chapter is rapidly growing. It is our goal to reach out to the many survivors throughout Arizona on their cancer healing journey. I also hope to have classes for you within the next week or two. You will hear from me soon. Hope you had a great trip and a fantastic birthday!

Welcome to YB! You can fill out a request form under "For Survivors" at the top of the page. And, if there are studios in your area, then you will be contacted. If you have a studio in mind, give them the information about YB and encourage them to sign on! You are a survivor - tell a studio they would be honored to have you! Blessings, Jean
