Tell us about yourself
My name is Isabel and I currently live in Austin Texas. I am a cancer survivor of Inflammatory Breast Cancer, a new and rare kind of cancer that is hard to diagnose. This Cancer is called the Silent Killer. I have been on many forms of chemo therapy and did a clinical trial after the Doctors told me that they could nothing else for me. That trial worked, I am living proof of it. Since I have been through so many surgeries, chemo's and radiation, reconstructive surgery, my body has been through the ringer. This past February I bent down to put a slip cover on my couch and broke a rib. So......... I guess what I need to do is get involved in some kind of exercise that is not so strenuous and YogaBear seems to fit the bill. I believe that this will be good for my mind body and soul.

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

I participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on November 6, 2009. I initially registered to walk the mile at my own pace. (Doctor's advice) It was held in Austin, Texas at the Domain. This was awesome. I met up with so many people who were survivors or had lost a loved one to Cancer. The whole experience was exhilarating. So much excitement.

Well, when it came time to participate in the run or walk, I thought I was getting in the right line. Instead, I got into the line for the 3… Continue

Not all Mamograms and Sonograms detect Cancer

I found a lump in November of 06 an was sent to get a Mamogram and Sonogram by my health care provider. About a week later, I received a letter from the Mamography Center telling me that I had an infection. I had a Doctors appointment and she told me not to worry, to thank God that I only had an infection. I tried to explain to her that after getting the mammogram, I felt something pop and then my breast turned black and blue. The Doctor never gave me chance to speak and walked out the… Continue

Dear Robin,
Im so sorry to hear that. Are you doing chemo or radiation? One thing I want to tell you is to keep your head up high and be strong. Because, the mind is very strong and if you keep saying to yourself, your gonna get better, I believe that you will. I will have you on my pray list for this sunday.

Hi Maria,
Thanks for the welcome. I read your profile and was inspired. I had a double mastectomy w/ reconstruction in 1/09 and just finished my last chemo treatment on Wednesday. I think yoga is a great way to help you get your strength back. I wish you well in your recovery.
God bless,
Lori
