Hi Everyone!
I am a 26/f w/ papillary thyroid cancer. I'm not gonna run through the whole story, as it is sorta on the long side.
I learned about YogaBear on the Stupid Cancer Show, and was curious. I've been trying to get myself back into shape, and I'm a big yoga fan, though sort of clumsy at it right now. I was hoping to find a YB studio in my area (Hampton Roads, Va), but seem to be out of luck. Should be moving to Northern Virginia in a few months, where it seems I will do a bit better.

Hi Robin,
What I love, love, love about yoga is that there are so many choices!
On days that I need to reconnect with myself deeply, I choose a restorative
class (blankets, eye pillows, soft music). On the days when I have 'wiggle' engergy, I go to flow classes and pace myself. And then, there are STRETCH days, so I attend Iyengar style classes!
My recommendation is to follow your breath. Slow, smooth, easy and long...deep and wide , like the ocean!
Let me know what you experience!
Home practice is awesome, too!
There are so many sites offering free yoga and one I love is Yoga Journal.
You go to their video section and click on Jason Crandell. I like his sequences and slow pacing, but it isn't for beginners.
Always: repeat this for me: Follow your breath!
Blessings,
jean
