Diagnosed with DCIS in 2005. Dr. Esserman at UCSF suggested I be part of Femara trial pre lumpectomy. I responded well to both the medication and surgery. June 2010 I was declared clean and free. 2006 I took my Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu and have been teaching ever since. I hold certifications from Judith Lasater in Advanced Restorative and Yoga Therapeutics, and from the Multiple Sclerosis Society. I incorporate movements from Feldenkrais Education and Thomas Hannah Somatics having practiced them while suffering from fibromyalgia. I am currently teaching Yoga for Cancer Warriors and Survivors at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center, Foster City, on Fridays, 1:30 - 2:45 pm. FREE to members and non-members.

Hi Serena,
I had DCIS and LCIS in 2004. I had bilateral mastectomies with TRAM Flap reconstruction. I received my certification from the Living Yoga Program. I am a Patient Navigator at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and work with women diagnosed with breast cancer. I weave my yoga into this work. I also have taught workshops for breast cancer survivors. I split my time between Salt Lake City and the Monterey area. It is very powerful for a survivor to teach other survivors. I wish you well in your work....Susan
