I am a 34 year old mama of 2. I work as a registered nurse and lactation consultant. I was diagnosed june 2009 with stage 3 breast cancer and due to severe side effects of chemo, I was deemed no longer a candidate after only 3 rounds. Now I am working with integrative medicine for healing. Before my mastectomy I enjoyed yoga. Now as a survivor I hope to learn how to modify poses so I can revive my practice.

Hi, Jessica - I was a mid-30s mom when I was diagnosed, too. How are you holding up? I love your photo - you're absolutely beautiful! Bald works for you. :)
Welcome to Yoga Bear, I'm new here too and am so happy to find like-minded survivors. Let me know if you feel like chatting. Take care.
Dear Jessica,
Welcome to YB! You have found a great resource! And, yes, there are restorative forms of practice that may be helpful. My practice has changed since cancer, and it has deepened while the physicality of it has lessened. I teach survivors. I am a survivor! I encourage you to reclaim your practice!
Blessings,
Jean
