Even just five minutes of Ujjayi Breath a day can be tremendously beneficial as we breath pure and energizing oxygen into our bodies, spreading the air deep into our lungs and selves. Practicing this at any time, in any place, is incredibly easy. Focusing on the quality of your breath brings you into the moment - there is nothing but the in and out of your lungs, breathing in all that is good and healing.
Breathing out and releasing any harmful thoughts, feelings and anything that is not serving you well. Living in the moment, and bringing quality of thought and attention to you and the people around you, is the purest celebration of life and living.

I would like to see modifications. The lotus position is difficult for some. I also like introducing this as a basic for all yoga poses that teach moderation and control

Beautiful way to center and calm. Thank you for kicking off the series with this great video!
Good beginning video! I always have trouble getting myself to sit still and breathe for more than a few seconds. Also, never had anyone tell me how to make noise like the ocean when I breathe, which I found pretty helpful!
Ujjayi is one of the most challenging of the pranayamas (breaths) for beginners to grasp, but a very calming and soothing practice once learned. I would like to hear a little more instruction in this video about how to achieve the sound. I liked the exercise of breathing into the heart, such an important connection!
