Yoga Challenge Day 1: Ujjayi Breath

Even just five minutes of Ujjayi Breath a day can be tremendously beneficial as we breath pure and energizing oxygen into our bodies, spreading the air deep into our lungs and selves. Practicing this at any time, in any place, is incredibly easy. Focusing on the quality of your breath brings you into the moment - there is nothing but the in and out of your lungs, breathing in all that is good and healing.

Breathing out and releasing any harmful thoughts, feelings and anything that is not serving you well. Living in the moment, and bringing quality of thought and attention to you and the people around you, is the purest celebration of life and living.

Practicing this "victorious breath" several times a day creates a balance for me. I'm a busy mom always on the go and this allows me to be patient and remember to slow down and appreciate the now.

Great in it's simplicity! And also allowed for some quiet to experience one's own breathing sounds. Thanks! Beth G

After double mastectomy my chest is a foreign land. It's almost as if my mind can't find it, or understand it. This breathing lets me heal from the inside out, slowly and with love. Thank you for the video.

I've been having breathing problems lately, as a result of radiation. Focusing on the breathing helps to build my lungs back up and help me trough the anxiety that accompanies shortness of breath.

token male checking in: very nice beginning- it all starts with following the breath, not your mind.

Very good video! It is also helpful to use this type of breathing when in a stressful situation - such as blood draws.

Great explanation! Even when not doing yoga, we can always breathe mindfully. It is easy to carry this breath into the rest of our day, into the rest of our activities, guided by feeling.
