Yoga Challenge Day 3: Seated Spinal Twist

The visualization used in this pose is incredibly powerful - imagine wringing out the organs and releasing pockets of stagnant energy. Your insides are like a washcloth, as you wring out toxins and waste, and make room for fresh, light-filled energy and oxygen. Once this pose is complete, you will feel a bit taller, a bit fresher, and a bit more flexible.

Variations of this can be done throughout the day, sitting on a chair or in the car, a gentle twist coupled with deep breathing is a tiny little pop of energy that keeps you moving forward, taller and stronger!

I love twist and this state " a gentle twist coupled with deep breathing is a tiny little pop of energy that keeps you moving forward, taller and stronger!

I used this twist in class today & afterward a brand new student told me she had been having colon spasms & said she already felt relief. Instant detoxification! thank you for another great pose. I love that you are creating a class for us by stringing all of the poses together!!!!!!!!!

Great video! Might be nice to cue the bandhas as a means to get more lift in spine.

I heard that if you were only to do one pose a day, a twist is the smartest one to do, as it encourages detoxification of the organs, flexibility of the spine, and a strong connection to the earth.

Thanks for another great guidance and gentle nudge to our students to include variations of spinal twist thru-out their day. After lengthening spine, I like to use the metaphor " Head Follows Heart" to begin twist by moving from the upper back/heart area.
