Chest opener on the wall opens so much more. It opens space for breath. It opens the heart for love. It opens the mind's eye as your capacity to push and feel in these areas that we close off and protect come out into the open. It opens the neck as we pull our shoulders down away from our ears. It opens our rib cage and expands our insides so our organs have room and space to do their work.
Close your eyes in this pose, and envision your entire body opening like the lotus opens, petals unfurling and expanding - open yourself to your best self. The self that sees love and light in all creatures and all things. Open yourself to living and loving in the moment. Open to the universe as larger than yourself, and yet completely contained in you.

Beautiful words to go with this pose. Noticed we didn't open up towards center of room on 2nd side altho you did say to open up more space in heart center. Good cue about lining up front heel with back heel. Loved words for those of us who've had breast surgery that we can break up scar tissue. I think that might work if our hearts have been broken too.
This is a difficult pose for me as my shoulders will feel painful when my arms are kept in line with the shoulders. I do a modification by keeping my arms a bit lower.
"Open yourself to loving & living", I love this expression & will remember to use it in class. A great pose that can be used by breast patients @ any stage of recovery as they just stand further away from the wall until some of the scars tissues begins to release
It's so hard to slow down and pay attention to the breath, but these videos do a good verbal guidance for me. My favorite part of this video was the opening of my lower spine as I twisted just a bit. It's also the first standing pose of this challenge and I really liked it.
