Blogging for a cause-why I volunteer for Yoga Bear

Although never personally affected by cancer, my family members and one very close childhood friend of mine have been. A friend since kindergarten, Erika and her family have been a part of my life for 20 years. Erika was diagnosed on her 23 birthday with cancer--approximately six months after her father, who was in his 50s, died of cancer less than two months after his diagnosis. Erika suffered both mentally, spiritually and emotionally as she simultaneously fought cancer and mourned her father's untimely death.

While she still struggles time to time with the emotional affects, Erika is healthy. I am in awe of her strength and inspired by her perseverance. Because of Erika, I joined Yoga Bear as a volunteer PR coordinator. It is truly rewarding to spread the good word of Yoga Bear. I am honored to assist with an organization that is so dedicated to providing wellness and support to cancer survivors across the country. http://www.zemanta.com/bloggingforacause/

Caitlin,
I would love to send a Yoga for Cancer Survivor CD to Erika, if you think she'd like one.
Blessings,
Jean
