In yoga we often talk of deepening our practice, whether it be by incorporating pranayama, mantra, meditation, or a juicier asana practice into our daily lives. But how about deepening it digitally?
One of my favorite wellness sites on the web is
CrazySexyLife.com, which was founded by author and filmmaker
Kris Carr, who was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma at 31 and describes herself as a “survivor even though I still LIVE with canSer.” In just a few years, Kris’ blog has transformed into an entire community of cancer patients, survivors, caregivers and individuals united by a passion for holistic healing. As a caregiver, yogi and veg-head, I’ve found an enormous community eager to share and support each other through the ups and downs of living with cancer. Conversations about everything from raw food to divorce to anxiety to – of course – yoga can be found on the site. Members even join together to virtually participate in a juice cleanse once a week. There’s nothing more empowering than an online community dedicated to kicking cancer’s butt, and the site’s seen me through some tough times – and taught me a thing or two along the way.
In addition to the member forums, Kris has stocked the site with a team of
blogging wellness experts, as well as a dense
Wisdom section, packed with info on books, DVDs and other resources ready to help your heal mind, body and soul.
