As you probably noticed, our website got a face lift over the weekend! The design is a bit different and we've moved a few things around for what we hope is better usability. If you have problems finding anything, just let one of us know.
You can now easily post anything you write on Yoga Bear to Facebook or Twitter (if you choose to). We're also hosting a contest
for a new banner logo! If you know of any designers, invite them to submit their designs!
So, while we were upgrading the site we were able to take a look at some member statistics (there are 1,834 of you!). Here's what we found:
- 86% female- Average Age = 44- 50% of Yoga Bear Members are Cancer Survivors- 25% are Yoga Instructors- 11% are Health Professionals- 7% are Volunteers- 5% are Caregivers
This brings us back to the question we've been asking for a while: how do we get more men involved? Yoga is gender-neutral, and both sexes can benefit from a healthy practice. We'd also like to see more caregivers get involved in the conversation, as research shows that they too can benefit from yoga and meditation.
It's truly exciting to watch this community grow and flourish, and our website has played a huge role in connecting, sharing, and supporting. Look forward to some more great yoga videos and podcasts from our volunteers, as well as a dynamic blog and forum. And don't be shy-- we want to hear from you on the blog. Share your experiences, tips for healthy living, or ask and answer questions. The more people involved in the conversation, the more colorful the fabric of this community.
Thank you for being a part of Yoga Bear!
Love & Peace,
