How are Yoga and Peace connected? Just think about ahimsa, the sanskrit word for non-harming/non-violence. In the words of Swami Rama: "We are not talking about Peace as in the absence of war, but a peace that permeates all parts of life…it fuses our mind, actions and speech, keeping us balanced and harmonized - it illuminates our life.”
This July 4th weekend, take some time to enjoy the most basic beauty of yoga. The main teaching of yoga is that we tend to be unaware of our innermost self, because we mistake ourself for only our body. But we can shed this false identification; in fact, yoga leads to the direct experience of finding your inner self. And with this realization, comes liberation from all human perfections.
Let’s take a few moments for silence and appreciation for all we have in our lives, and for those who enabled us to live in an independent country.
