Weekly YogaLetter - June 26th, 2009

Hello Yoga Bears,

We are gearing up for tomorrow's big event: YOGAPALOOZA! This is my favorite day of the year, and I hope you can join us for yoga, community, and fun! You can reserve your spot here. Please bring family and friends, beginners are welcome and classes will be geared towards all levels. This event is co-sponsored by GAIAM, provider of information, goods and services to customers who value the environment, a sustainable economy, healthy lifestyles, alternative healthcare and personal development.

Interesting conversations this week:
1. Dancer and cancer survivor Sylvia asks a question about being a beginner yogi
2. Yogis suggested names for our hospital program, where volunteer instructors provide gentle, compassionate yoga to individuals in the hospital
3. Say hello to our new members
4. Two of our favorite podcasts are available for you to enjoy (for free)

Yoga Bear in the news:
Wisconsin Public Radio: Yoga, meditation, and stress-reduction as a supplement to traditional medical treatments
ABC Austin (KVUE): Cancer patient benefits from yoga classes
NBC Washington DC: Party on the Mat at Yogapalooza
Yoga Dork: Karma Yoga Events
The Plain Dealer: Yogapalooza
Examiner Seattle: June is national cancer survivor's month: Yoga Bear featured
Women's Running Magazine: Do Yoga, Help a Good Cause

As always, we thank you for being part of this movement and supporting healthy lifestyles through yoga. I will end with a very fitting quote from biologist Charles Jonkel: "The grizzly is a symbol of what is right with the world."

In community,
Halle
