Lunges feel like the pose you have to really sink in to, but it doesn't happen on the first try. It takes time, breath, and intention. Lunges are a surrender - a willingness to accept that your legs and torso will work together to keep you upright. A sinking, or surrendering deeper into the pelvis, letting those muscles relax and expand and release the tension, but in releasing the tension showing their true strength, strength without tightness, strength in relaxation, strength in knowing that your body will hold you. To truly melt into a lunge, tension needs to roll off and away, and just relax into the stretch, and let your body amaze you with how it holds you.

Allowing for the knees to be bent and heels off the mat in downward -facing dog is welcoming to those of us who don't quite have the flexibility. I really liked the comment, "your body is the teacher!" I also like working into the lunges rather than just lunging into them and the focus on surrender and breath. Nice.
oh, i love doing lunges. i do relate to the soft reminder to do only what you can today. that is easy to forget and to strain to do it just like the video. breath, gentleness, and time.

I loved the description at the begining. I would have liked additional description of positioning of the front knee (it looked like the knee was forward of rather than over the front foot), upper back, lower back and scapula.
In case someone is monitoring this I wanted to let you know that eveyone's may not be getting the daily emails with the link to the yoga challenge. I havnt gotten it since the 6th day.
Lunges are very hard for me since I have such bad knees. I think it is going to take me some time before I can get through this entire sequence. But, it is going to be wonderful to fell for the progress.
