Happy New Year. It has been a while, so I am checking up on you. How are you feeling and what are you doing now?
I made it through my six chemo treatments and it was worth all the agony. My 5cm tumor virtually disappeared. A lumpectomy was performed rather than the mastectomy that I had been promised. No compaints here! A few weeks of radiation and I should be good to go.
I finally have the energy to haul my art stuff downstairs and get to work. Are you able to paint or create at this time?
Thanks for adding me. Even with family and friends standing by, loneliness can still creep in. Children and grandchildren are a great incentive for moving forward, though. When I am able, I try to create memories. Last Sunday I danced my 2 1/2 month old grandson around the floor at my daughter's wedding. He may dance with many girls in the future, but he will always know that he had his first dance with Nanna.
How old are your children? If I can help with their education, let me know. I taught art in an elementary school for four years and loved it.
I am at the beginning of my journey with breast cancer. Chemo is a drag, but I am keeping on top of things. I will need your encouragement after surgery. I am left handed and my tumor is in the left breast, so it will put a cramp in my style as far as painting and writing go. My right hand is going to feel so special with all the attention it is going to get.
Most importantly, pray with conviction and keep a sense of humor. Prayer has kept me strong and humor has kept me sane.
Just got back home from seeng my surgeon. She say I'm doign great. I think so too...no lumps...yea. Only thing, I need to stretch my arm more so it doesn't remain so stiff. Good to know, I thought I was getting good arm strength excercise by lifting the grandkids, ages 3, 1 &1/2 and 5 mos. Maybe I should start trying to lift my husband! LOL. Hair is coming in good, thick and curly. I had wavy hair, this I knew but didn't know it was so curly...of course I am going by my baby pics because I can't remember that far back. I am thinking of leaving it short..it's so much easier than the straigtening I did every morning. Now, I dry, fluff and go. Hope all is well with you.
