I cannot say enough about the yoga bear opportunity. The program allows me to talk to other survivors and to let them know my expreience.through this program and its benefits. Melissa Brenner and I have been working towards communicating with the yoga studios in dallas and many owners are interested. I feel healthy and much more engertic since I have started focusing on hadha yoga. I am on my 7th week . Thanks Again.
Hi Kelly, I'm here in Austin - what is offered for people that are just starting chemo? I had my 1st session last week and after the 1st week I'm feeling like doing more. I wanted to get involved in a meditation stretch class of some sort. I took my managers to a private yoga class once - other then that I haven't been to any other classes.
Thank you for your note. I got home 10 days ago from my 34 day stay at Baylor Hospital in Dallas for a Stem Cell Transplant. IN remission now but lot's of follow up. They will not call me cured until I hit 2 years from Tranplant Birthday of 5/14/09. How are you doing? Have a wonderful weekend.
Hi Kelly,
Just wanted to let you know that I am ready to start yoga now. I have been working out with light weights with my boyfriend and it is helping rebuild the strength in my arms and torso but I would love to feel the Yoga experience.
I am a yoga teacher here in Austin and I'm very interested in getting more involved with this program. I used to work full time for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and would love to continue my cancer advocacy through yoga. Please let me know how I can be of service. Much metta to you--Sarah
Hi Kelly -
I just moved back to Austin after living in Santa Monica for 13 years. I worked in the television industry and have been teaching yoga for about 2 years. I moved to Austin to teach yoga full time and am hoping to get involved in the local Austin yoga community. Volunteering and learning more about this organization would be great! Thank you!
Hi Kelly, thank you for the welcome comment. I followed a link from Huffington Post to Yoga Bear and signed up for any Yoga Bear news and events happening in Northern California. Again, many thanks! Gail
