Nice to hear from you. It's wonderful to hear you beat cc and the work you do today sounds great. I was not aware of this event in March. I assumed insurance covered this procedure. My family members that have had one it was covered. I never had the opportunity to have one because of my age it was not recommended. If I had known my family history I would have been given one and maybe caught my cancer sooner. I would be interested in hearing more about this event. Thanks for your blessing and the same to you. :)
Thanks very much for your response. Where do I go on the site to find yoga classes? I don't see a tab or instructions on how to go about it. Sorry - I am not familiar with this site.
Thank you so much for your kinds words and information. I really appreciate it and will definitely look her up. I have my radiation scan in December (week before Xmas) and will see how that goes and I have to figure out when in January she is planning this retreat. I would LUV to go! Thanks again!
Dear Jean,
Thank you for your kind words and welcoming message, I just started my first yoga class this past sunday and though i was a bit tired I know it's a step in the right direction;) im am so happy I found Yoga Bear and this community of supportive people that know or have been supportive of someone going thru cancer stuff. It sucks, however it's also nice to know that we are not alone!
Have a blessed day;) haydee

Hi, Jean!
Sorry for the late reply! Thanks for the warm welcome! Glad to have found Yoga Bear! Now I am just looking for a Yoga spot that understands the needs of a cancer patient! If anyone out there knows of a place near Naperville, IL where I could practice, I sure would appreciate the information!
Peace!
Thanks! I feel so welcomed to Yoga Bear already! My group at the UT School of Social Work is putting together information to help new Yoga Bear studios and instructors get acquainted with ways to support the unique needs of Yoga Bear members. We'll be including information from veteran Yoga Bear studios as to what's worked well for them, what hasn't, what survivors say they wished their instructors knew, etc. We will be interviewing some of the veteran Yoga Bear studios - if you can think of any in particular that would be good to contact, let me know! :)
Thanks for the heads up on the Cure article, Jean - I used to just pick it up at my oncologist's but I'm not in there every month like I once was (thank heavens!). Guess it's time to subscribe. :) I appreciate the post, thank you!
Dear Jean, I am so thrilled someone responded, Thank You. I see you reach out to soo many patients, that is really wonderful. I would love to talk to you too.
Is your Restorative class one that has been developed for Mastectomy/ chest surgery specifically or just a general Restorative class?
Jean, thanks for your comments. They will help me alot. When I was diagnosed I was told about what it was etc. but I was not told how I should handle other people's reactions.

I love the magazine Natural Solutions but lost my subscription somewhere along the way. I will check the newstand for it!
I just filled out a yoga request last night, waiting for a studio match. I am sure there are a lot of options here in Chicago - I am really excited to do this, it's needed in more than 1 way.
Thank you again Jean for writing about this subject, I swore when I read it - you were inside my head. Life is so awkward right now and somewhat comforting to know it's normal, or that I'm not alone.
