Hi Jean,
Thank you for the kind welcome....I have practiced yoga for close to 20 years and like you, following my experience with cancer I became a certified yoga instructor. I want to share the healing and joy of a yoga practice with others who are dealing with cancer. I will put something together for the website and share the site with my breast cancer group.
Namaste,
Susan
Jean,
I was part of a UCLA Yoga Breast Cancer survivor test program. I would like to find a yoga studio near my home in Arcadia that is part of the Yoga Bear program. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mary Lou
Thanks for connecting. I am a yoga beginner and have been learning at home with a CD. I'm hoping I can find a class near where I live in DC to maybe connect with other breast cancer survivors who are interested in learning yoga.

Hi Jean ~ thank you for contacting me. I did manage to post our studio on the forum offering discounts on our classes at Everybody's Yoga in Lagrangeville, NY. How are you and what area are you located in?
Hi Jean:
I have had many students with Cancer - in all phases including recovery. I'd love to talk to more people about breast cancer recovery as well. Many people are unaware at the extreme limited mobility a woman (or man) has after breast cancer surgery.
As I began looking at your wall ,realized you were going for... the checkup...
yes... May you be lifted of all your thoughts that might burden and... breathe :)
Sending you thoughts of love and serenity
How are you Jean? I wanted to thank you for the information you gave me awhile back.
So you are correct... My regiment included oxalyplatin along with 5fu... And believe me I thought FU-- was appropritely named :) participated in an erbitux trial and luckily had the DNA which had success with the trials. What a time that all was. As of January 27th will be 3 yrs cancer free. YESSSSSSS. Wanted to send you this super little video to pass along to all it is inspiring! You'll have to copy and paste the link inyour browser.
Hi Jean,
Thanks for the welcome. I am looking forward to getting familiar with Yoga Bear. I really believe that yoga has the power to heal.
Best,
Letitia
Hi Jean, this site seems like a great way to connect with yoga instructors and/or students and share ideas and stories. thanks for reaching out. :) Namaste
Thanks Jean. I have downloaded the podcast and will try it soon. My husband's friend gave me Healing Meditation by Kelly Howell. I like it alot b/c it's very soothing. I will definitely check out yoga. I'm already feeling the side effect of joint pains from the first chemo and I'm hoping yoga will help manage that pain.

Well, thanks Jean, for making friends.
When I read down the list I saw references to "colon." I thought, ";? ;?" but then saw the cancer word. Thirty years ago, right before we were ready to get married, my husband found out he had colon cancer. So I guess since then he's had a ;?
A section of his : was removed and replaced with a metal tube.
Colon cancer is tough, certainly not a joke, so I guess I saw : because it's a lot easier to bear. But you know there are many people who are treated for cancer and they do just fine.
Did I mention that 10 years ago I had cervical cancer?
That 5 years ago my husband had prostate cancer, unrelated to his original colon cancer?
And we are living happy and fine. ;)
Thank you, Jean... the link is indeed the same as the page for the colon list I was asking you about... thank you for the confirmation of that. And I did sign up and am receiving the posts. Again, many thanks. MA
Hmmm, well maybe you could share your letter with your chapter director? She'll have access to the Handbook/ directory and can surely post it for you.
Let me know if I can be of any further help for what your trying to accomplish.

I know NOTHING about Yoga but I exercise every day. You suggested that I do the "Vinysana" style. Where do I find out about that style?
Janet
I am so happy I can be part of Yoga Bear. Wishing you Peaceful and Joyful New Year!
