Hi, Jean - I don't know if this reply is out of order - I keep looking for your last comment - but I just wanted to say it's a pleasure to talk with you. Yes, I know that feeling of, "Oh! Looks like I'm gonna survive! Now what???". I went through that a few years ago. It took me a while to get a grip on what I wanted to do, but now that I have started this new chapter, I'm so happy. The best revenge against cancer is using it as a source of inner strength and reaching out to other survivors. I feel like I've come full circle.

Hi, Jean --

I'm a 10-year survivor as of this month, and I've just completed my 200-hour teacher training - beginning to teach, and I always feel most at home teaching very gentle classes, especially for people who are in the process of reclaiming their lives post-diagnosis and (during or after treatment). I see that you an M.A. , as I am. My training was in marriage and family counseling, and I think it's going to be helpful to me as I go along. So I see by your profile that we have a lot in common. Thanks for friending me. Hope to talk with you soon.
Namaste -- Robin

I had a wonderful time at A Gentle Way. I'll be coming back for another two weeks in July. It would be lovely to connect with you then. I'd like to know more about your work with Yoga Bear.

This is all wonderful and helpful, Jean. Thank you for your quick informative replies!
I'll look into them all. PA may be a good option as well.
I have an appt w/ oncologist next week, and getting my questions together, and I'm in the middle of some great programs [ incl yoga] that the hospital has for breast cancer experiencers. I'm indulging in whatever they are offering. So yoga training is a bit further down the list for the nonce, as well as strongly underlined to get back to asap! I much appreciate your offer and wonderful enthusiasm. mucho hugs and blessings on your day!

Hi Jean,
that was my plan [ teaching yoga].., after a false alarm heart problem the day before last xmas [ fgrs still crossed] which i spent in the ER getting tests back that said I was 'okay'. I was exhausted for a month after that event, and dug into the best diet [ beans and veggies, beans, no flour, no sugar.., and more beans, oats, seeds , garlic etc], walking, yoga ..., and the idea that I would go fwd w/ teaching yoga [ i had 'sort of'off and on over the past 45 yrs] . Then, prompted by this health scare, I went to catch up on tests etc w/ my primary care doc: and breast cancer hit the fan! So I've been 're habbing myself' since mid March once again. I am finding it rewarding, as every day I am better and stronger in some way, in touch w/ good people and good choices. I have a bunch of sites/links to check out, and am hoping the SAYCO can be a good fit, though I am at a distance. Have to follow up on checking them out. Thanks for the encouragement!! I read all the links each linked to as well!

I think if you have to use sugar, using organic, fair trade cane sugar is your best bet. However, we all know that specific diseases and disorders love sugar, no matter how pure it is and what the conditions of workers are. I really feel that for optimum health, it's best to use Stevia leaves or whole fruits as sweeteners, such as dates, fig paste, etc. You can definitely use organic maple syrup to give you that sugary kick. Ultimately, everyone has to make their own choice on this one!

Dearest Jean -
I just want you to know I was thinking of you today and it brought a smile to my face. I hope you are doing well! I'd love to catch up with how you are doing. I'm still waiting to hear all about that fantastic car ride in Texas - and yes, I am still so jealous.
Take care my friend.

Hi Jean,
Yes I did take yoga at the Peachtree Yoga Center in Sandy Springs and really enjoyed it - so I'll probably try to continue since it's energizing, relaxing and helps stressed people like me remember to b-r-e-a-t-h-e - Great program - I tell everyone about Yoga Bear. Thanks so much Gianna

ps Didn't do the challenge but enjoyed the twice a week beginner classes. G

Hi Jean. I don't recall if I wrote you back. Do you happen to know what studios YB has in the Chgo area? I can't find any on the site for some reason.
